Art for Banjocatbanjo

Title: The Piemaker's Perfect Picnic
Gift for: banjocatbanjo
Artist: kaiserkuchen
Rating:: PG
Fandom: Pushing Daisies
Characters: Ned, Chuck, (Digby)
Warnings: Only for the copious use of bright colors~~
Artist notes: Happy Yuletart, banjocatbanjo! I thought about doing something winter-y, but somehow Pushing Daisies to me is irrevocably connected with spring/summer and all that colors that come with it. Enjoy ♥!
Summary: All work and no play make the Piemaker a dull boy. Ergo: Chuck, Digby and a picnic to save the day!

This is so pretty and lovely! I adore the colors you used, and the entire composition is just fabulous. The details are extraordinary, especially on their clothes and faces. And that tree! That tree is the best thing ever! I really love this -- beautiful work, mystery artist!

♥ ♥ thank you for the kind words :DD I have difficulties reigning in my urge to go overboard with colors normally anyways, so it was awesome to kind of go crazy with this fandom~~

Oh man, this is adorable! I love the fantastical style you have going - the bright bright colors, decorative swirls in treetop and sky, the sun etc. It suits the show, with its own fanciful stylization, very nicely. Such a cozy, cheery piece!

Pushing Daisies manages to make me happy just by thinking of it and its visuals, so I'm glad I managed to convey that in this pic ♥ Thanks!

(also, drawing swirly things is just too damn fun :DD)

Eee, I'm so glad you liked it! Especially since I just about had a mild coronary when I got my assignment, lol not to sound all creeper-like, but I've always admired and adored your art from afaaaaaaaaaaaar ^^b

♥ ♥ ♥

(the Digby!butt was one of those great ideas that come when one is staring at a picture long enough and going "WHAT IS THIS MISSING HMM HMMM HMM")

COLORS! LOTS OF THEM! I really like all the tiny details you fit into this explosion of bright, fun art! It's deceptively complicated -- the more you zoom in, the more that you notice. Wonderful!

It's deceptively complicated ...this totally made me squee when I read it, thank you for the lovely compliment ♥ I'm so glad you liked the pic!

I love this so much! The colors and patterns and Ned and Chuck are all just perfect. You've carried on the whimsy of the show, but in your own really lovely way. :D

Oh, your Ned icon ♥ And thank you! Pushing Daisies has such a lovely visual style, and this made drawing fanart for it even more fun :D

Thanks ♥! I was so bummed out by the winter weather when I drew this, so I really wanted everything to look cheerful :D
Dec. 15th, 2009 07:27 am (UTC)
oh that's sweet! It captures the feel of the show very much so!

I'm so happy to hear that you liked it and thought so, thanks :DD

This is fantastic. My favourite part is Digby hiding behind the tree. I love how you captured the spirit of the show.
Jan. 5th, 2010 09:28 pm (UTC)
Digby doesn't hide, he seriously explores things ;DD But hee, thank you! I'm stoked that you liked it!

I never watched Pushing Daisies, but I am head over heels for the cheerful and quirky way this is coloured. Unique and memorable!

I can highly recommend it for whenever you need a concentrated dose of quirky and lovable charm! (Also: LEE PACE. Unf!) And since it got canceled (boo!), there isn't all that much you'd have to watch, lolsob

I'm really pleased you liked this anyways though :DD

Oh so cool! I'm really digging this style, with all the textures in there. It has a sort of cut-out-of construction paper look to it, very awesome!
Jan. 5th, 2010 09:35 pm (UTC)
I wanted to try and avoid the use of black lines as much as possible when I drew this (something I am VERY fond of otherwise, lol), so I'm glad that you liked the end result!
