Art for Amyeyl!

Title:The Gathered Four
Gift for: amyeyl
Artist: gryfeathr
Rating:: G
Fandom: Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors
Characters: Seiji, Touma, Anubis, Shuten (Sage, Rowen, Cale and Anubis for the dub folks)
Warnings: (if applicable) Non!
Artist notes: When I saw the fandom list there was no choice left for me (among a plethora of some of my favourite things!) -- SAMURAI TROOPERS YES. I couldn't choose who would be the most fun, so I just threw all of Amyeyl's favourites in. I hope you enjoy, it was wonderful to work on and a great nostalgia trip!

I'm going through the archives of Yuletart in prep for the coming sign ups, and realized I'd never replied to the kind folks who commented on this.

So, many ages late: thank you very much!

Thank you! It was one of the things I tried to focus on, as multiple bodies is hard beans.

This is awesome! I can remember catching Ronin Warriors on Cartoon Network now and again when I was younger, and while I wasn't a religious watcher, I still have a sort of nostalgia for it. :) Great work--I love the composition and the dynamic poses!

I think my first viewing of Ronin Warriors was much the same, a drive-by experience on Sci-Fi channel. It wasn't until Cartoon Network picked it up that I saw it in any kind of order, and it has a strong nostalgia for me as well from that time.

Thank you!

Its a good train. A very good train, with posh seats and childhood snacks in every car. I think I had forgotten how terrible the fashion was; in researching this, I was trying for outfits they were actually drawn in, and becoming highly amused trying to replicate them. And yet so very great!

Thank you!

Very cute! I like your colouring.

Although my friend that doesn't know the fandom asked why wolverine had a sword :)

Even a year later, the comment about 'wolverine' makes me snort and then grin with an evil pleasure. Apparently the wolverine look is a universal 80's constant. Also I like Wolverine. Are these things connected?

Thank you very much!

I like the way the composition is so nicely balanced with the characters and their weapons.

Ooh, very nice group shot! I really like the off-center composition, and the individual figures are nicely arranged. I particularly enjoy the posing on the far-left guy; the hat-adjustment has a very natural feel to it. Also, your colors are grand, particularly on the grass (it has a lovely, effortless windswept look).

Oh man. I'm always concerned about color, and that it came off well is a relief. I usually have trouble with arranging multiple figures as well, and that it works here is great to know.

Thank you!

(Man I love those two too! Missing from this lineup of my personal favs are Rajura and Shin, but its hard to pick favourites from a good cast!)

Thank you very much!

Oh, nice posing! The weapons (er, I suppose one is a staff, so it's a tool instead?) and the men really seem to suit their looks. Very cool.

Thank you! I cheated (?) and went for actual clothing they've appeared in. Well. Except for the one int he back with the blue hair.

I kinda can't resist throwing a muscley man in a white t-shirt, apparently. I tried. It did not work, haha.
